Open Studios at Project Artaud

Space as Territory Choreographer Workshop and Artist Talk with Sara Shelton Mann, 10/2 11-1PM

Join renown dancer and choreographer, Sara Shelton Mann, in a live- and zoom-workshop experience aimed at developing choreographic praxis, working the imaginal as a body in space, and writing into the void. The live workshop will be hosted on Project Artaud’s complex at Joe Goode Annex. See here for information on how to sign up and attend.

Space 124 Open Studio Gallery Exhibition and Artist Market, 10/2 – 10/3 12-6PM

Visual Artists Javier Manrique & Jonah Roll will be exhibiting and selling their art works from works on paper, paintings, 3D wood sculptures, t-shirts and more… Stop by and see wonderful work in a unique space.

Project Artaud 50th Anniversary Celebration

Over the months of April and May, Project Artaud celebrate its 50th anniversary as a live/work arts community. Events included presenting new public murals, live music, poetry readings, dance performances, and artist talks.

  • Music by Marco Peris and Inspector Gadje Balkan Brass

  • New Flag Pole Raising with Benjy Young and Sarah Kennedy

In addition to the many performances, talks, and events, a 50-year retrospective gallery exhibition featuring 100+ archival materials from Project Artaud’s history will run in Space 124.

Project Artaud Welcomes You! Experience all the talent thriving at Project Artaud.  At the hub of activity in the Mission our Open Studio gallery and performance festival brings visual, sculptural, spoken word, dance, music and aerial work.

There are over 100 artists’ studios within a 3 block radius of Alabama and Mariposa Streets, as well as artisanal eateries and other vendors.  Many studios will have live demonstrations of work, and all open studios welcome questions from the public.

Take BART to 16th and Mission, then the 22 or 33 bus east to Harrison.  One block east at Alabama go right and we are the entire city block bordered by 17th Alabama, Florida and Mariposa Streets.  Enter at 401 Alabama near 17th St, or 2800 Mariposa between Florida and Alabama. Project Artaud Welcomes You!
